My First Jamboree Experience with Swiggy
Hello friends! I’m excited to share my experience attending the Jamboree event at Swiggy. For those unfamiliar, Jamboree is a special week-long event where Swiggy invites all employees to the office every three months. This time, it coincided with Swiggy’s 10th anniversary, making it even more special.
Preparing for the Trip
I’m Samiya Khan from Rajasthan, and my office is located in Embassy Tech Village, Bangalore. This was my first solo trip to Bangalore, so I sought advice from colleagues who had previously attended. After much discussion, I felt prepared and excited to meet my online colleagues in person.
Travel and Accommodation
Booking Tickets: I booked my round-trip tickets from Jaipur to Bangalore for about 12,000 INR through MakeMyTrip. This gives you an idea of the cost so you can plan accordingly. It’s best to arrive by Sunday and return the following weekend to make the most of the experience.
Accommodation: If you have friends or family in Bangalore, staying with them can save costs. Otherwise, there are plenty of PGs and hotels near the office. I stayed in a PG where a friend was already living, costing me 700 INR per day, with an additional 100 INR for meals. The food was delicious, covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Transportation: From the airport, I recommend taking a bus to your accommodation. It’s convenient and the locals are helpful if you need directions.
Upon reaching the PG, I met my friend, and we instantly clicked. If you arrive early, I suggest exploring Bangalore with someone familiar with the city. We visited Church Street, a beautiful area, and had a great time.
Office Life
Day 1: The Swiggy office was stunning. I received my ID card and met my team, who were incredibly welcoming. My seniors were generous, covering expenses for the week’s activities. We worked, enjoyed lunch together, and then went to Torq for games like Go Karting and Bowling.
Day 2: We attended a fabulous CEO dinner party, filled with motivation and fun. Meeting leaders and hearing their inspiring stories was a highlight.
Day 3: Swiggy’s anniversary was celebrated with a function at KTPO Whitefield. There were speeches, awards, and performances by celebrities like Jonita Gandhi and DJ Karma. My team won the annual Swiggesters award, which was a proud moment.
Day 4: We took a half-day off to explore a National Park and later tried an Escape Room, solving riddles together.
Day 5: Our last day was spent in the office, feeling bittersweet. We revisited the Escape Room in the evening for one last adventure.

As a female developer, I felt incredibly supported at Swiggy. I made friends across other teams, and everyone ensured I felt safe and included.
